A NIGHT WITH NORMAN PRINCE & PAUL JOHNSTON
Friday, 20th October, 2017 at 7:30 pm| £12.00
15 people are attending A NIGHT WITH NORMAN PRINCE & PAUL JOHNSTON
The Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn will see a real ‘treat’ on Friday 20th October 2017 with a return visit of ‘Lancashire favourites’ Norman Prince and Paul Johnston when they return with their 2 hour show of Lancashire songs and humour!
Norman was the front-man and leader of the country’s top comedy folk group, The Houghton Weavers, for over 24 years and his humour and tales were a major part of the Weavers success over many years. Their TV series ‘Sit Thi Deawn’ is still the definitive example of North West life! He left the band 17 years ago and is now one of the country’s top ‘after-dinner’ speakers, speaking at venues as far apart as Aberdeen to The Dorchester Hotel, London, and St Helier in Jersey.
Occasionally he gets together with Paul Johnston and returns to his ‘roots’ and his first love – the folk comedy and music of his beloved Lancashire.
Paul Johnston was a member of the ‘Legendary’ folk group – The Fivepenny Piece. He currently performs with his own group ‘Cracked Flag’ and, like Norman, has amassed a great knowledge of songs and stories. He, like Norman, is a Lancs lad (hailing from Salford) and has been brought up on the sights and sounds of LS Lowry and his ‘Matchstalk Men’!
Together they guarantee an evening of fun and laughter unsurpassed in the Theatres of today, as their previous visits to The Lowther have proved to be!
