You've been framed!

Photography Student, Helen Aikman will be unveiling her chosen portraits of theatre volunteers at the Theatre Open Evening on Wednesday 1st April.  Helen has completed her practical project as part of the BA (Hons) Photographic Media Course at Blackburn College.

She spent 12 weeks photographing most of the theatre volunteers, who are mainly retired professionals and local people.  Out of over 100 black and white shots, the brief was to choose, frame and hang just 6 in a public location.

'I had a wonderful time,' said Helen.  'It is such an amazing project to be part of.  The results are better than I could have ever expected.  I'm thrilled to have my work in the theatre and all my family and friends are coming to the Open night to see the photographs unveiled.'

The theatre volunteers will see their pictures for the first time on Wednesday.  Volunteer, Michael Berry said that the team were all very impressed with the way Helen worked with them.  'She had a marvellous way of making people feel relaxed and capturing them at their most natural.'
