'Our Brian' from Corrie in star pantomime line-up

The Thwaites Empire Theatre has announced that the actor, Chris Quinten will star in this years professional pantomime, Jack & the Beanstalk which opens on Tuesday 8 December.

Chris Quinten started his career as a dancer in many West End productions and TV shows including the Victoria Palace with Cilla Black and Jimmy Tarbuck, Warship Target and the film ‘International Velvet' with Tatum O'Neil.

Chris is best known for playing Brian Tilsley in ‘Coronation Street' from 1978 to 1989. More recently he has appeared on screen in ‘Doctors' and ‘Surgical Spirit' as well as numerous pantomimes playing Kingrat, Buttons and Aladdin.

He is coming to the Empire at Ewood to play the role of King Bumble alongside Alison Crawford who was a semi-finalist in ITV's 'Grease is the Word', and audience favourite, Anthony Batey who was a finalist in 'Pop Idol'BBC North West Tonight and BBC Radio Lancashire presenter, Tony Livesey will feature as the voice of the Giant.

The juvenile cast will be provided by local children from the Bernese School of Theatre, Dance & Drama and Chantelle's Dance Academy.

Chief Executive, Harriet Roberts said 'we are delighted with the standard of talent that we have attracted to be in this years pantomime which promises to be the best yet on the eve of our Centenary year'.
