GO's on Tour - TV Stardom!

The Golden Oldies Dance Troup based at the Thwaites Empire Theatre have had a taste of tv stardom, with an appearance on BBC TV's North West Tonight. 

The group of 50+ movers appeared on the Monday evening news programme with presenter Ranvir Singh, in a feature promoting BBC Radio Lancashire's Simply Come Dancing Tour. 

Estelle Broadhurst from Bernese School of Theatre Dance is leading the workshops which take place across the county from 2-6 November. 

Anybody who turns up to take part in the workshops will be entered into a prize draw to win tickets to the live TV Strictly Come Dancing Programme on Saturday 7 November.

Reporting back from the day at West View Leisure Centre, Mike said, 'The GO's worked really hard all day with Estelle, helping out demonstrating step moves and chatting to many of the visitors. There was quite a lot of interest in the group and the theatre, in all a very successful PR exercise, for the Empire as well as for Radio Lancashire!'
