New Century New Team

On the eve of its Centenary, the Thwaites Empire Theatre has announced some exciting management changes taking the venue forward into the next 100 years.

As part of the ongoing development of the project, Michael Berry takes over as Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Michael is an award winning fundraiser, credited with being the driving force behind getting the theatre re-opened and trading.  He is a dynamic and hands-on chair and is the brains behind the Empire100 'Raise the Roof' online auction and Gala Dinner aimed at raising £100K to replace the roofs of the complex in 2010.

Harriet Roberts steps down as Chief Executive at the end of this year and will be taking on a special role as projects consultant, leading on the Heritage Lottery funded community events, outreach and grants.

The operational side of the theatre will be managed by a new General Manager.

This position will be advertised with a view to the new candidate starting in January.
