HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS!

Fans of the King are in for a real treat as Blackburn is set to welcome two of the finest Elvis tribute artists that you will find anywhere in the world.

Next month, Elvis Presley would have been 74 on Friday January 8th and the occasion is set to be marked by a special Elvis tribute show at Blackburn's Thwaites Empire Theatre

Two of the best Elvis tribute artistes that you will find anywhere in the world, Steve Preston and Chris Connor, will be starring in the Birthday special of A Tribute to Elvis.

But with so many Elvis impersonators in the world today, you could be forgiven for thinking that this show will be just like all the rest.  Well you couldn't be more wrong because together, Steve and Chris have notched up a list of achievements that is truly second to none!

Steve Preston

With over 15 years experience under his gold studded belt, Steve Preston is regarded as one of the UK's finest ever tribute artistes.  His career profile speaks for itself but most notably, in 1995 Steve became the only tribute artiste ever to appear on the Royal Variety Performance as he performed as Elvis in front of Her Majesty the Queen.  He has toured internationally in the highly acclaimed Legends show and, along with Elvis's original band members, has performed for over 5,000 fans at the Bolton Arena in the UK's largest ever Elvis tribute concert.

Chris Connor

Also Appearing is Chris Connor, who in just a short space of time has emerged as one of the world's leading Elvis tribute artistes.  He was crowned the 2009 European Champion at the prestigious Images of the King contest, voted the world's number one Elvis lookalike by E.P.I.M and, like Steve, has also toured with Elvis Presley's original backing singers The Sweet Inspirations playing some of the UK's most prestigious venues including The Manchester Apollo, Harrogate International Centre and Cardiff St. David's Hall.

A Tribute to Elvis is regarded as one of the most exciting and authentic tribute shows in the UK and promises to leave you in no doubt why Elvis will always be remembered as the King of Rock ‘n' Roll.  You can catch the show at the Thwaites Empire Theatre on The Kings birthday, Friday 8th Jan.  Limited tickets are priced £10 and are available from the venue box office on 01254 685 500.
