Update on Building Work

Building Work News.

If you're driving past Thwaites Empire Theatre for the next few weeks you'll see the scaffolding at the front of the building but don't worry, we're still fully open. The scaffolding is part of our ongoing work to improve the building and "Raise The Roof" so is all essential for the future.

The scaffolding will be up for a few weeks while we repoint the bricks, but the main entrance is open as usual and it won't affect any of the shows coming up.

Work is also due to start soon on the Aqueduct Road car park as United Utilities improve the waste disposal in Blackburn. They've been keeping us fully-briefed on plans, and hope to cause minimum disruption to the use of the Theatre and Capita Centre. However, we would advise patrons to make a little extra time for their journeys here while the work is being carried out.

The car park work will be going on until September 2011 and at the end of it we'll have a much better car park (and Blackburn will have a much better sewerage system).  Flyers with full details of the work will soon be available from the theatre Box Office.
